The Francisco Family from the San Diego Council is our Family of the Month for April 2017. Brother and Sir Knight Danie is the immediate Past Grand Knight of San Diego’s oldest council, a Trustee, and its Membership Director. His Father, Bernardo is also a member of the council and serves as Inside Guard and the council chef. Devout Catholics, they attend St. Joseph’s Cathedral downtown where Danie is an usher 52 weeks a year and on Holy Days. Danie was almost single handedly responsible for the council reaching Star Council status last year by recruiting over half of the 16 new members brought into the order. They are the social heart of the council by serving home-cooked meals at council meetings and their frequent hosting of social events at Danie’s home. Their dedication to the Council is unmatched, to include participating in every Council Fish Fry during lent this year. They also exemplify our Faith and Order’s Pro-Life ideals by visiting the Potiker Family Residences in downtown San Diego, where Bernardo lives, leading the Fifth Sunday Rosaries there for the elderly residents, showing how we value life at all its stages. Great Knights and a great family, the Francisco’s are very worthy of being named our Chapter Family of the Month.
